Scutellaria Root is the root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (Labiatae), from which the periderm has been removed.
Scutellaria Root contains baicalin as an ingredient and is said to have laxative and diuretic effects. The flowers are purple, whereas the roots, medicinal parts, are golden.
