Scopolia Rhizome

Scopolia Rhizome

Scopolia Rhizome
Scopolia Rhizome is the rhizome with root of Scopolia japonica Maximowicz, Scopolia carniolica Jacquin or Scopolia parviflora Nakai (Solanaceae).
Scopolia contains atropine as an ingredient and is said to have analgesic and antispasmodic effects. The original plant, Scopolia japonica, grows naturally in Japan, but it is a poisonous plant that contains alkaloids such as atropine in its whole plant. You need to be careful not to eat it accidentally, because its shape of the new bud is similar to that of the butterbur.
