Safflower
Safflower is the tubulous flower of Carthamus tinctorius Linneá (Compositae) without any treatment or with most of the yellow pigment removed, and sometimes with pressed into a flat slab.
Safflower contains carthamin as an ingredient and is said to have emmenagogic and anti-blood stasis effects. Besides being drunk as safflower tea, it has been used as a lipstick and a dye for fabrics for a long time.
