Phellodendron Bark is the bark of Phellodendron amurense Ruprecht or Phellodendron chinense Schneider (Rutaceae), from which the periderm has been removed.
Phellodendron Bark contains berberine as an ingredient and is said to have a stomachic property and an anti-inflammatory effect. It is a crude drug that has been used for a long time, always brought with them when they go on a trip, and taken orally for abdominal disorders and externally for sprain.
