Cornus Fruit

Cornus Fruit

Cornus Fruit
Cornus Fruit is the pulp of the pseudocarp of Cornus officinalis Siebold et Zuccarini (Cornaceae).
Corni Fructus contains loganin and other ingredients and is said to have a tonic effect and nutritional function. Cornus officinalis, the original plant, blooms yellow flowers at the beginning of spring, has beautiful green leaves in summer, and bears red fruits in autumn, so it is often planted as a garden tree. The receptacle (pseudocarp) that ripens and turns red in late autumn has too strong acidic and astringent tastes for birds to eat, so we can see it until winter.
